During our History topic, we set up a grocer’s shop in our shared area. The children brought in scarves and hats to look the part. We chose a selection of products that customers could have bought back in the 1930’s and placed everything behind the counter with a shop assistant, complete with an old fashioned till and scales as it would have been then. The children were allowed to role play in the area as shop keeper and customers.
They loved it!
