Faith Team Collective Worship

Wednesday 3rd April

Every day we see crosses all around us. People wear them as jewellery, they hang them on the wall, and they use them as key chains. When you pass by a church, it is not unusual to see a cross on the steeple. We even see many people who wear the cross as a tattoo on their body. What comes to your mind when you see a cross? What does the cross mean to you? Is it just a piece of jewellery or a work of art?

These were the questions asked by KS2 Faith Team in their Collective Worship on Wednesday the 3rd of April .As the Collective Worship fell just before the school broke up for Easter, Faith Team decided to focus their Collective Worship on ‘The Stations of the Cross.’ In churches at Easter you will find a set of pictures depicting the last few hours of Jesus life. These are called the Stations of the Cross.

Faith Team acted out each station and talked through what was happening at each point of Jesus’ journey to his place of crucifixion. At each station Amelie in Year 4 read a prayer which made us all think deeply about the journey that Jesus made to the place he was crucified, carrying his cross.
