Since October half term the library has been out of bounds as it was having a makeover. The teachers came into school during half term and painted it a beautiful yellow. Meanwhile, new furniture was ordered and teachers and TAs have spent some time sorting all the books.
Over Christmas, the old units were dismantled and since our return to school this term, the staff have worked incredibly hard so the library is once again open for business! On Monday, Summer (our Reading Dog) came in with her owner Jo and some children from KS1 went and read to her.
This week will hopefully see the return of our parent reading sessions. Mrs Cordey is going to be reinstating the librarians, who will work in the library twice a week to tidy and return books. In addition, some Year 6 volunteers will be overseeing the use of the library at lunchtime. The idea is that the children can take some time out to sit and read, and the older children will be there to help them choose books if needed.
Thank you very much to the whole staff team and particularly to Mrs Cordey who has done such a wonderful job of coordinating the revamp.
