On 30th January, Reception walked down to Christ Church as part of their RE topic ‘who looks after this wonderful world and why’. For this, we thought about volunteering and doing something for others without getting anything in return. We met some of the volunteers who help the church and the children each got a chance to speak to these volunteers and ask questions about their roles. Reverend Alison showed all of the children how to dust the church chairs, and then everyone got their own duster and volunteered to dust lots of the chairs.
For our Love project, we wanted to thank the volunteers who help our school and our church. We brought daffodils down to the Church with us and gave each volunteer a daffodil to say thank you for all they do to help us. The children really enjoyed this and were very excited to give their flower to one of the volunteers we had met.
The Bible says:
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
The children really enjoyed this and were very excited to give their flower to one of the volunteers we had met.
Well done to all.
