What are Love Projects?

We have recently revised our six core Christian values. As part of this review, we added two new Christian values: Wisdom and Dignity and ‘lost’ two old values: Love and Grace. Obviously losing Love and Grace was a problem! Miss Woods and the rest of the school set about seeing how we could incorporate both in to our curriculum and wider activities in the school community. We wanted this so that they remain part of the school’s vision and values and continue to make a difference to those around us. Grace was added in to the  Peacemakers’ Charter which you can see here. This was a really good idea as that made our Anti Bullying message even stronger.

The children had so many ideas of how we could ‘keep the Love’ that we all decided to add it to our whole school year. One of the ideas came from the School Council and Faith Teams, who suggested running a big Love Project each term. The idea was that we as a school community, (that’s adults and children alike) make a radical and lasting difference on the community around us each term. The children have chosen to support three local charities and three international charities this year. They wanted to support homeless people, people who had no or little food and people who were finding life challenging.

The school and its community of families are outward looking and want the children to see beyond their own needs and offer help when they can. We believe that it is important too for our children to know that hardships can come to any family and offers of help are often welcomed by lots of different people. This section of the school website tells you more about the Love Projects  we support and are involved in partnering with. We hope you enjoy finding out more about them.

Little Princess Trust

The brilliant thing about being at Nutfield Church Primary is that our children are amazing! This group of girls, pictured above, recently had their hair cut off in order to send it to an incredible charity.

The Little Princess Trust provide real hair wigs, free of charge, to children across the UK and Ireland that have lost their own hair through cancer treatment…
