In my last newsletter I told you that we were soon to be visited by an RE Quality Mark Assessor. The assessor spent time in the school interviewing Mrs Brooks and Mrs Cox, speaking to the children from across the year groups, looking in books and at much of the RE related work the school is doing.
He completed the assessment by speaking with me about the range of learning he had seen and discussing the work that we have undertaken in developing our curriculum to ensure that we continue our journey in teaching about not only Christianity but also many other world faiths. We are absolutely delighted to say that we were awarded the Gold award!
We are the first school to be awarded this classification in the area. I would like to congratulate the whole team on their considerable efforts to ensure that our RE curriculum is of the very highest standard. They have worked very hard over the past few years as you know to develop the whole curriculum and we are very fortunate to have them.
Well done teachers and well done too to the brilliant children who showed off their knowledge, talents and insights so well! We will of course share the news with the diocese and the wider community who will, I am sure, be so pleased to hear the news!
