SPORTING ACHIEVEMENTS AND TEAMWORK

We are really proud of our sporting achievements at Nutfield Church Primary School. Children from Key Stage 2 have been participating in a series of sports tournaments at Oxted School, competing against other primary and junior schools in the Tandridge District.

As a Church School we are committed to the sporting ideals of teamwork and determination, and our school values of COMMUNITY, LOVE and JOY are evident in the children as they take part.  I think you can see from the photos how much the children all love taking part, and representing their school.

Here are some pictures of the squads- our Netball team came 2nd in the Small Schools Tournament, our Girls’ Football team reached the semi-finals in an 8 team competition, and the Year 6 Basketball team came 2nd out of 7 teams.

Since last reporting, the Year 3 and 4 Handball team had great fun competing in the Oxted Sports Hall, while the Tag Rugby A team came 2nd in the tournament and are off to the next stages of the competition.

Well done to everybody who took part – more squad photos to follow.

Here are the Year 6 Sports Leaders.  They help run whole school sporting activities, like the Silver Games Mark Celebration, and Sport Relief, and they also lead and run after school sports clubs on a Friday evening for the younger children, including quicksticks, handball and dodgeball.  They recently took part in Sports Leader training, run by Active Surrey, which taught them how to support other children in sport, and gave them lots of ideas for training sessions.  The best bit was
