Nutfield Church Primary School is within the Diocese of Southwark. This very special Diocese covers a wide geographical area and includes an extremely diverse population. The diocese stretches from Greenwich in the east, to Kingston in the west; its northern boundary is the River Thames and it extends beyond the M25 into Surrey. Our schools range from country villages to the heart of the city.

As a Church of England school, it is both distinctive and inclusive. This means that while Nutfield Church School is definitely distinctively Christian, it is open to and inclusive of those of other faiths, or no faith. Outstanding RE teaching comes from a brand new diocesan syllabus which incorporates learning about a broad range of world faiths and cultures.

You do not have to be a Christian to teach in this school, although staff members are expected to fully respect the school’s Christian ethos.

Staff in this school benefit from high quality continued professional development through courses at the Diocese head office in London Bridge and through in house training. In addition our staff will benefit from working with and visiting other church schools in the area. In some cases staff  experience showcasing your own teaching with partner schools’ teachers.

Staff teams in our diocese are diverse, with members from a variety of faiths and backgrounds, reflecting their local communities. This diversity is what helps make our schools vibrant and stimulating. The Christian commitment to the value of the school that all should flourish and live life in all its fullness, extends beyond the pupils in the classrooms to the staff, and every member of the wider school community.
