At the beginning of this week the children finished writing their reports on bears in preparation to send to William, the boy from our “Bear Under the Stairs” Story. Our focus later on in the week was on comprehension and EGPS (English, Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling).
The children have worked their way through a variety of comprehension texts ranging from fact to fiction. We looked at the different types of questions that could be asked such as literal questions, questions that require inference and questions that require prediction. We also talked about strategies we could use to find the answer in the text.
