In English we have continued to study ‘FArTHER’ by Grahame Baker-Smith. The work this week has really allowed the children to express their creativity as they set about designing their own flying machines.
Once their design was complete they had to write about its different components explaining what each part was used for. The children then moved on to pitching their design to the rest of their group who then voted for their favourite.
Once this process was finalised each group had to create a presentation to be delivered to the class pitching their group’s chosen design. When all of the presentations had been delivered the class did a blind vote to
pick the overall winning design!
The children thoroughly enjoyed this work and excelled at working as a team.
